Speaking

I’ve been blessed to speak at many Catholic conferences around the country, including The Phoenix, Denver, and Columbus Catholic Women’s Conferences, Kingdom Builders Indianapolis, Catholic Family Land, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Catholic Writers Guild, Together in Holiness, and the Avila Summit. Online conferences and retreats include Pray More Retreats, Virtual Catholic Women’s Conference, Ecce Homo Lenten Retreat, and Women at the Well.
One of my favorite things is to lead women’s retreats and days of reflection, which I’ve been honored to offer for the women religious of the diocese of Corpus Christi, Blessed is She, Apostolate of Family Consecration annual silent women’s retreat, and parishes all over Arizona.

I’d love to help you create an inspiring and engaging experience for your conference, retreat, or event, too.

Feel free to contact me at claire@eventhesparrow.com or fill out the form below for information about speaking to your group or leading a full or half-day retreat.

Speaker Topics, for both online or in-person events, including conferences or retreats:

Talks and Retreats on St. Elizabeth of the Trinity:

Prophet of Prayer – A full, six-talk women’s weekend retreat.  (To experience the talks from this retreat, listen in here.)

Let Yourself Be Loved – An introduction to her life and her core message which reveals our most fundamental vocation.  This can be one talk or a two-part mini-retreat.

From Death to New Life – Elizabeth of the Trinity and the Paschal Mystery; best as a Lenten talk.

Other conference or retreat-style talks:

Servant of God Chiara Corbella Petrillo and the Sacrament of the Present Moment –  A life completely surrendered to the moment as God presents it is starkly different to our world, which rushes ahead in a blur of activity – especially in the “most wonderful time of the year.” This is a two-part mini-retreat suitable for Advent, or the talk on Chiara can be a stand-alone event.

The God Who Sees Me – The Story of Hagar and our identity as God’s daughter; His name for us and our name for Him.

My Life is Not My Own  – A pro-life mini-retreat expounding on the stories of St. Gianna Beretta Molla and Servant  of God Chiara Corbella Petrillo

The Divine Author and the Counterplot of the Enemy – He’s been a liar from the beginning.  What lies does our adversary speak into our feminine hearts–and what is our true identity?

The Power of Your Personal Story -We were designed to receive truth through story — include our own. Explore how knowing our personal story, praying with it, and seeing it in light of the Paschal Mystery can be a powerful way to grow in prayerful self-awareness and in relationship to the Divine Author.

A Eucharistic Life – The Eucharist is the Source and Summit of our Faith – and it should be the center point of our lives.  Why is it such a stumbling block for so many?  And what do eucharistic miracles – both ancient and modern – teach us about this great gift and mystery?

Teaching-style talks:

The Four Temperaments – the Four Temperaments, what they are, how they can help with self-awareness, and examples from scripture of how the power of God’s grace can transform your temperament for the glory of His kingdom.  This can be a single talk or a two or four-part workshop.

St. John of the Cross – overview of his life, works, most important teachings and his influence on Pope St. John Paul II (and because of that, on Theology of the Body and the Church today)

St. Gianna Molla: A Sacrifice of Love – What about St. Gianna’s early life made her final self-gift possible?  What choices did she actually have in her final pregnancy?  And what does she have to teach us today, especially about the value of life and of suffering?  **I also have a version of this talk suitable for young women or teens
